Character background/history: Alyss was raised normally until she was about 7, when both her parents disappeared. She was raised by a foster family with an older brother, but was sent away when she was 12 due to having some problems with depression and hoarding things in her room. She was also very clingy and shy, and wouldn’t let people leave her alone. When she was released, she found a job and stayed with an older woman in the area, who acted as her mother from the time she was 16 until mid last year. The elderly woman left her money for school, and a small house that Alyss sold for funds to finish college. She has been working at the same book store for two and a half years and now has changed quite a bit, actually preferring her solitude. She is majorly an art student, and can be quite friendly when you get to know her. She is secretive about some things, but generally tries to be as open as possible. Her obsession with how things work got her the nickname Gear. She is able to sense and occasionally communicate with forces outside her own body, at times even interact with them.
Equipment: Usually carrying around a sketchbook, many pencils, a few pens and a sharpie. A bag that is just big enough to fit all this along with some snacks and a notebook for school work. She also carries a swiss army knife for convenience, and usually a small paperback novel.
